Code of Conduct
CodeChix is a non-profit organization dedicated to the Education, Advocacy and Mentoring
of women engineers in industry and academia. CodeChix is the force behind Coder[xx], a
one-day technical and educational conference focused on women engineers, developers, users,
and administrators working in industry.
We at CodeChix want all Coder[xx] attendees to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience.
Accordingly, all attendees are expected to show respect and courtesy to other attendees
throughout the conference.
To make clear what is expected, all attendees, speakers, organizers, and volunteers at
Coder[xx] are required to conform to the following Code of Conduct.
Coder[xx] is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone,
regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race,
or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form.
All communication should be appropriate for a professional audience including people of many

that harassment and sexist, racist, or exclusionary jokes are not appropriate for Coder[xx].
Attendees violating these rules may be asked to leave the conference without a refund at the
sole discretion of CodeChix.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability,
physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate
intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of
talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in behavior that violates this code of conduct, CodeChix may take any action
they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the conference with no refund.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns,
please contact a member of the CodeChix organizing staff.
